Hi, I'm getting the spinning wheel (on quick search box by entering a name) and I'm using 5.0.21. Just submitted debug log D1830874430. Like above, it seems to happen less often than with earlier versions of 5, but it does happen. I try to click out…

Make that one more vote for this feature! The other reason it is great is if you have "extracted annotations" note from Zotfile, it becomes really easy to click the link and go see the original text.

Hi, does anyone have further advice on this? Both the student and I have tried resetting sync history several times on all our computers, and there seem to be a set of attachments that continue to unsynchronized. In addition, on both the stude…

Thanks. Just to clarify: the question isn't just about the blue dots. That's half the issue. There are also several attachments that aren't synchronizing to server. Should I just keep doing "reset sync history" on all the computers until they show u…

Hi Adam, Thanks for your helpful reply! The test subcollection is mine only, so the attachments aren't available at Zotero. I did find some in the group library that were missing (below). You were right that the setting on Computer B was …

Update: The "Restore to Zotero Server" worked to restore the "References" collection that I had mistakenly erased. Thank goodness I had a back up. Everything is now how I wanted it, with the Zotero storage space freed up for group libraries. Thanks!
-
Hi, Thanks for the instructions and the explanation, that makes sense. I purged the storage, and then I did the Reset File Sync History (this was after I restored the back up). Then I clicked on the sync icon in Standalone. It's still synchroni…

Thanks! Success. I used Chicago MOS Full Note, and used the beta CSL editor to change the class to in-text. A very minor adjustment, but the first time I've been able to edit a style.
-
Any updates to one of the styles available to do this? I have another use for it, namely making syllabuses, where you want each item listed with a full citation at the point of insertion (rather than alphabetically listed at the end). To click and d…

Ah, okay, thanks for the fix (even if temporary), it is working, and I will try to reload next time. I have to say this is absolutely awesome, because the snapshot reproduces the tweet perfectly. Earlier attempts (maybe 6 months ago) would capt…

I'd like to second steve.bannister's suggestion! Currently my technique is to save the email in html format, open it into firefox, then create an item button. Doesn't do the attachments unless you attach another item.

I appreciate the discussion and the explanations, including on how to change the styles. I've been using Zotero for a year or so, and one of my goals for the summer is to learn how to change styles. So thanks very much for that. "I think you're…

Again, thanks very much. I see that it can be done without editing, but I have to admit this isn't very satisfactory. For the following reasons: (1) In the above, you wrote that there is the following rule: "If something is grammatically part o…

Thanks so much, I'll wait for the reply, but here's a somewhat more complex case I run into frequently to also consider: "Many theorists of the division have labor have pointed to its persistence over time (often invoking Smith 1776 as a starting po…

The problem isn't suppressing author, that's great and useful. The problem is that the reference manager generates parentheses, and I'm not sure why this is a necessary default (I do however understand your point). Thus, you have people wanting to s…

"Given that one of Bruce's stated goals of CSL was to be able to switch between different citation systems, I don't think Rintze's suggestions are acceptable as a solution here." Can you explain this? As someone who hasn't needed to use a brack…

Thanks. No dice, unfortunately. I disabled, and at first I got an error "Annotations for a snapshot may only be opened in one browser window simultaneously. This snapshot will be opened without annotations." Then I closed all tabs with aljazeera.com…

Great, that helps a lot with the parentheses issue. I'd probably still want to use my own parentheses structure if I have a sentence within parentheses, and then add a citation, or if I wanted to have brackets within parentheses. But I can get along…

Thanks. Yes, I'm using 3.0b2 for FF. On suppressing parentheses: it might be my style of writing, but I often separate out or group citation sources within the parentheses. E.g., I might cite directly from one source, and then have a semi-colon…

Fantastic, thanks. So simple, sorry I missed that.
-
Great, thanks! Works perfectly again. I now have to write the library again and tell them problem fixed.

Yes, that one does work, I successfully added a couple of items. Indeed, I finally made the switch to Zotero for my bibliography when UofT had a note on their catalogue's web-page that it now supported Zotero. I'll contact them with the problem. …

I hope that I am giving you what you need (sorry if not): http://search8.library.utoronto.ca/UTL/index?N=0&Ntk=Anywhere&Ntt=nimni+challenge+of+post-zionism&Ntx=mode+matchallpartial&Nu=p_work_normalized&Np=1&a…

Hi, I hope reviving an old discussion works. I'm about to import items from Procite, which will bring both my keywords and the automatic ones Procite imported as they were downloaded. This will make a mess of my Zotero tags. I'm wondering if so…

Just for sake of completeness, now that I only have one file, RIS.js, the extra information I added for names of translators, listed above, does work. (The problem is still with the Procite, which for some reason won't assign more than one TR or ED.…
-
Ah! Yes, in the report errors it had errors because it was using the RIS.js that I had renamed (e.g., RIS-old.js) instead, and showing an error that RIS-old was already loaded. Now the call numbers work. I'm going to try the translator stuff again. …
-
Hi, thanks again. Yes, as ajlyon notes, this is customizing the RIS.To answer bdarcus, it is possible to edit the output in Procite by editing the RIS-EndNote.POS (I believe that this was initially developed to help Procite users to migrate to Endno…

Great, thanks so much for the info for call numbers, and for the latest RIS.js (assuming that's the latest). I tried to figure out if I had the latest RIS.js, and hit a link in an another thread, but it had been removed. I'm nearly there in con…
